We're thrilled to welcome four new members to the Summit College Club this fall!

Lisa Campbell and her husband, Bob, moved to Summit in 2007. They have three children, ages 23, 21, and 18. Lisa first became involved in the community when her children attended Washington Elementary School, where she served as Vice President and later Co-President of the PTO. As her children moved on to middle and high school, Lisa continued volunteering, serving as Vice President of Communications for both Lawton C. Johnson Summit Middle School and the Summit Boosters Association, managing their websites. She also served as Co-President of SPARC (Summit Performing Arts Resource Committee). Lisa has also been involved in local civic and political activities for many years, particularly encouraging people to register to vote and participate in elections. After attending the October 8 panel discussion, Women, Elections & Action, she decided to join Summit College Club and looks forward to meeting new people and getting involved. Before having children, Lisa worked in Academic Affairs at Weill Cornell Medical College, where she managed the office and worked closely with faculty, administrators, and medical students during their clinical rotations and the residency application process. She later worked as a consultant and, since 2013, has built and managed a number of websites. These days, she's happy to be down to just one! Lisa and her family also have two much-loved Basset Hounds, Samson and Cassie, who bring them a lot of joy and keep everyone entertained.

Marjorie Fox is a retired environmental lawyer and an active contributor to Summit life. She became involved in municipal government as a lawyer for the City of New York Office of the Corporation Counsel. Soon after moving to Summit, she joined the Summit Environmental Commission. In 2005, she started the Summit City-wide Earth Day Clean Up, which has become an annual event with hundreds of participants cleaning up parks and open spaces in Summit. She was also a founding member and former chair of the Summit Recycling Advisory Committee. From 2018-2023, she served on the Summit Common Council, including three terms as Council President. She currently volunteers with GRACE and is a Vice Chair of the Summit Democrats where she works on committee administration, as well as voter education and outreach. In her free time, Marjorie enjoys knitting, studying Spanish, traveling, and spending time with her Golden Retrievers Comet and Halley. Marjorie and her husband Jeff Naiman have lived in Summit for 27 years, and have 2 sons aged 27 and 23 who live in Joshua Tree, California and New York City. After attending the October 8 panel discussion, Women, Elections & Action, she decided to join Summit College Club and looks forward to being involved in the club’s activities and meeting new people.

Ann-Marie Sieczka had recently retired when she volunteered to help with the Book Sale last April, and enjoyed getting to know some of the members, as well as the book sorting, of course. She attended the June Lunch Bunch at Winberie's, where she met more Summit College Club faithfuls. After a summer of travels, she joined the Club and is already active with the Programs Committee, Membership Committee, Book Club and more. Ann-Marie began her career on Wall Street. She and her husband Paul moved to Berkeley Heights 31 years ago where Ann-Marie initially focused on family. Eventually she joined the staff of the Berkeley Heights Public Library, and went on to spend 10 years as the Department Head of the Circulation Desk. Now that her three children are grown and living in Ohio, Florida and Virginia — where she also has a new grandchild — Ann-Marie finds herself on the road quite a bit, visiting family. She also enjoys reading, cooking, hiking, spending time at their second home in South Carolina, and traveling to new places. We just hope we can keep up with her!

Melanie Wilson has been a library lover since she was a little girl. A card-carrying member of the Busy Bee Book Group in elementary school, she was known to pen songs about libraries and even earned a trip to the Bronx Zoo for her “eager beaver” reading habits. Fast-forward a few decades, and Melanie’s love of books and words has taken many forms, from volunteering in the Summit public school libraries to earning a master’s degree in journalism from Boston University. Her essays and articles have appeared in local and national publications, and today, through Melanie Wilson Media, she works as a private writing coach and content creator, helping women entrepreneurs find their stories and put them into words. A Summit resident of more than 30 years, Melanie has become a familiar face in the community as a volunteer and connector. She is president of the Friends of the Summit Free Public Library, led Speak Up Summit for 12 years, has run a local chapter of Believe, Inspire, Grow (B.I.G.) since 2012, serves as director of marketing and community outreach for Vivid Stage, and volunteers regularly with GRACE. She and her husband Scott raised their three children here, and now that she’s a grandmother, she’s busy passing her love of books on to the next generation. When she’s not reading or writing, you might find her on the pickleball court or humming Broadway show tunes. Melanie joined SCC after attending the October 8 panel discussion, Women, Elections & Action. We think she’s going to fit right in!
