Welcome to a new fiscal year for AAUW Summit College Club.

We are excited to serve as your Co-Presidents for 2025-2027, and have already been hard at work with all of our committees planning and setting goals and priorities for the coming year.

First, we want to thank Lynne Rogerson, our outgoing president, for her four years of outstanding leadership. During Lynne’s tenure, Summit College Club emerged from COVID to revive our beloved book sale, restart some of our interest groups, welcome many new members, and expand our scholarship program to include adult women returning to college. Fortunately, Lynne isn’t leaving: She’s shifting seats to take on the role of Treasurer. Lynne will also lead a Strategic Planning Committee in taking a long-term view toward maintaining the Club’s organizational health. We’re very grateful for her support in the transition, and for her ongoing contributions to both SCC and AAUW.

Many of our Board members are new in their roles this year, and it’s exciting to be working with such committed and energized individuals. If you weren’t able to attend our annual meeting last June in which the Board was voted in by members, be sure to check out the list of Board Members on our website. Did you know that you’re welcome to attend a board meeting any time? You’ll learn what each of our committees is working on and how decisions are made. The board meets on the second Monday of each month at 3:00, via Zoom. Just let either of us, Hedy or Karen, know you’d like to attend and we’ll send you the invitation link.

One of our goals this year is to build connections with our members – to each other, to Summit College Club, and to the mission of AAUW. You, our members, have the experience, drive compassion and collaborative spirit to make that happen. As Co-Presidents, we are here to facilitate your involvement, and we invite you to share your ideas on what would make Summit College Club an even more rewarding experience for you. Another goal is to connect with our communities in new and thoughtful ways – for example, partnering with other local groups, inviting the public to our programs, and being recognized for our contributions. Again, we welcome your thoughts on how to make these connections come alive! We look forward to your feedback.

We hope to make 2025-2026 a terrific year for all Summit College Club members – starting with our upcoming luncheon at Baltusrol Golf Club on September 28th. Thanks for your active contributions, past and future. With your participation, Summit College Club will continue to thrive, growing in numbers as well as impact.

Sincerely,

Hedy Tukey
