The Schuyler sisters, of Hamilton fame, are the focus of a fascinating new biography and an upcoming program featuring its author, Amanda Vaill. AAUW Summit College Club and the Washington Association of New Jersey will co-host a presentation and discussion with Ms. Vaill on Sunday, October 12th, at 2 p.m., in the auditorium of the Washington’s Headquarters Museum, located at 30 Washington Place in Morristown. The event is free, but seating is limited.
In her book, Pride and Pleasure: The Schuyler Sisters in an Age of Revolution, Vaill looks at the dazzling and dramatic 18th-century lives of Angelica and Elizabeth Schuyler. Angelica, the vivacious oldest of three girls, eloped at twenty with a war profiteer, lived in Paris and London, and charmed powerful men on both sides of the Atlantic, including Ben Franklin, Thomas…
