About the Event
Join us for a screening and discussion of the documentary King in the Wilderness. The documentary focuses on the last two years of Dr. King’s life, highlighting key events such as his work with the Chicago Freedom Movement, anti-Vietnam War protests, the “I’ve Been to the Mountaintop” speech, and ending with his assassination and funeral. The moving film features interviews with several of Dr. King’s friends and colleagues, who share their recollections of his actions and beliefs. Following the film’s screening, Dr. Maureen Grant of the Summit College Club will moderate a question-and-answer discussion with the audience.
Doors of the Conti Room at the New Providence Memorial Library will open at 1:30 PM. The film will begin at 1:45 PM.
