About the Event

Ruby Bridges is the story of the 6-year-old child who desegregated the New Orleans public school system in 1960. The movie, which stars Chaz Monet as the young Ruby, attempts a realistic rendering of the events that happened to the civil rights activist family and child. Co-sponsored by the Summit College Club and the League of Women Voters of Berkeley Heights, New Providence and Summit, the movie and discussion are open to all -- invite a friend! This movie is appropriate for children 13 and older.
